Mountain biking is one of the more adrenaline pumping activities in Jasper National Park.
Freewheel Cycle Jasper, one of the places to rent mountain bikes in Jasper, provides a nice printable trail guide (PDF) worth downloading. The map provides details about which Jasper National Park trails are open to mountain biking.
Freewheel Cycle rates Saturday Night Lake Loop (27.4 KM) as advanced and Mina-Riley Lake Loop (9KM) as intermediate to advanced. Both are part of the Pyramid Bench Trails adjacent to Jasper town-site.
Athabasca River Trail (23KM) is a beginner to intermediate trail that goes behind Jasper Park Lodge’s famous golf course and eventually alongside the scenic Athabasca River.
Thanks for some great information on Jasper National Park.

Thank you for the info, Jasper looks like a lot of fun
I was wondering if it’s possible to cycle the skyline trail. If so, how long is it?

The trails in Jasper National Park where mountain biking is permitted include Athabasca River Trail, Celestine Lake Road Trail, Overlander Trail, Palisades Lookout Trail, Saturday Night Loop Trail, Signal Mountain Fire Lookout Trail, Snake Indian Falls Trail, the Valley of Five Lakes Trail and Wabasso Lake Trail.

One thing I missed when I came back to Australia was rising through the snow. We don’t have much here on Oz. Looks great in Jasper.
Nothing really beats night cycling for a rush of Adrenaline!
Can anyone recommend any other awesome mountain biking trails in canada?
thanks
Is there any shuttles that will take you up the mountain to trail heads?
@Josh – not that I know of.
For a mountain biking facility with lots of services, take a look at the Canmore Nordic Centre.

I like to think of myself as a intermediate to advanced kind of cyclist, but I think this might be too much for me. Jasper National Park looks amazing though.
Looks like a hard run. Jasper National Park looks like it has some of the best runs for mountain biking though.
Fancy company on a ride – any sites which recommend guides to come out with you in Jasper National Park ?
Very inspiring, I am over here in the UK and for the 1st time ever we got terrible snow early this year and I was able to ride through the Yorkhsire Moors in 3ft snow.. amazing… I’m inspired to try it overseas for real Jasper looks a dam fine start!!!
Looks like a great place for biking. Is there any hotel or logging close by? or you have to just camp out.

Are those trails open year round? How technical do they get?
Might be over that way in the summer (coming from uk) any good dh/shore trails that way love riding xc but can’t beat the trill of on the edge dh.
Banzai, I came over from the UK one year ago, and started riding when I got here, and you’d quite honestly be amazed by the variation of trails the park has… and if you ever fancy a day hitting jumps and such, you can always head off to Hinton.
That being said, the trails are not built up much, so they’re all natural.
